Bilbo Baggins' response to how he felt when he was deep in his journey carrying the ring to Mordor. He was worn out. He said something about how tired he was that I was reminded of this morning in Our Daily Bread. "I feel like not enough butter scraped on toast." Talk about being spread thin. The first time I saw that movie and heard that it hit home for me. When I was a living for sin kind of guy I always felt like that. Trying to keep the masses happy with me took a lot out of energy. Trying to be a "good person' without the proper guidance from Jesus was near impossible. It was much work for zero gain, but, I kept trying.
Elijah was running for his life from the crazy lady Jezebel. She was a prophet killer. He had finally gave up and layed down to die. In fact he prayed for death. God came to him, fed, him, got him strengthened, and told him to get moving. So he did. God gave him the power to move on even though he was done. When I eventually quit running my tiredness went away. I had surrendered to the only truth I knew. Once I decided to truly live for Jesus and follow his commands I gained energy. I had a "Special Purpose" (Quote from the movie, The Jerk.) It was like night and day. I now have stuff to do for a higher power than me or the person I was trying to help. I want to do what Jesus asks of me. I am grateful for His gift of grace. I have been writing this blog for 10 months straight every day now. Only a few times have I felt like I was bored of it. Writing this post every day is God's way of giving me the power I need to shine bright for the Kingdom. I haver enough fuel to keep this lamp lit so people can find their way. I have too much butter, so, now I must spread it out on other peoples bread. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving us strength. Thank you for your grace which gives us the desire to please you. Help us today as we face the world that we may be an example of what God can do. I thank you in Jesus name, Amen.
Thank you all for being here. I love all you guys. WWJD for Life! 🥰
