Isaiah prophesied to Israel of their demise and rise. They we chasing false Idols and living for anything but God. We read about a new branch that will grow from an old tree. God will cleanse the land and those left standing will be Holy. I love how God uses parables to get his point across.
I feel like my life was a controlled burn. The type of controlled burn that we use to clean up the forests and bring in new life. Sometimes they get out of control and turn into a wildfire. That summed me up in a nutshell. I was a spark waiting for any gust of wind.
I was punished by life. I put myself through hell trying to satisfy my own emotions. I almost un-alived me more than once from my wildfire activities. I was a terror. I have been purged and new growth is coming out of me.
I notice the change in my behavior so it has to be drastic. I am in the forest and I see the trees finally have changed. This could have never happened under my control. Believe me, I tried for about 30 years of my existence.
I surrendered my life to Christ. I try me best to live for Jesus. I need His help of course. Does that make me weak? Standing for the truth and what is right is the strongest thing anyone can do. Conforming to this world is the easiest. It is easy so most everyone does it. In Alcoholics Anonymous it is written "...we chose an easier softer way..." This led us all do the bottom of a bottle. It is easier. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for planting the seeds in us to produce new growth. Let these new branches that come from us be the signal to those around us that we have what they want. Let our hearts and minds stay focused on you that our growth may be strong. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
