Today I decided to just rip the same title of Our Daily Bread Ministries' daily devotional. It was too good. This is where I get my own personal perspective to kick my brain off in the morning. I tell my side of the story to reach out to those who can relate to my experiences. When we can relate with someone we tend to trust what they say. We have lived similar lives.
God knows me. He knows my heart. He uses me to do his will. I surrendered to Jesus and do what He asks because I love Him. I willingly gave my will over to God. What does this mean? Do I blame God for everything that goes wrong now? Who is accountable?
I make my own decisions. I own all of them. It is the choices I make that define who I decide to impress. I could give my will over to the things of this world like I had for over 40 years or I could give up and surrender to the one who knows me best. I would rather hang out with God than kick it with Godless people.
If I curse at work that is my choice. It means I did not follow the path and give up my will to God. Cursing is a reaction I usually use when I do not get my way, or I'm mad at someone, or I lack the vocabulary to come up with better adjectives in the heat of the moment. Cursing comes from my inability to control something most of the time. That is my ego trying to do what it wants. This is bad I have learned. If I drip paint then so what. Clean it up and get back to work. I am not to grumble even though I do sometimes.
Do you believe God knows you? I do firmly believe because of the evidence of His existence. The changes in my life are evidence of how God has had my back the whole time. In Psalms we read "When I am in the depths you are there". I can look in the past and see how it all went down and, let me tell you what, I am ever so grateful. Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for this beautiful day. I thank you for knowing our hearts and using the Holy Spirit to prompt us in the right direction. Help us to keep our egos out of the way so we may hear your spirit. Guide us as we go out to feed your sheep today. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen. Thank you everyone for being here.
