Our Daily Bread writes about our friend Daniel. The guy that got tossed in the lions den. Through prophecy, God answers the prayers of the Israelites. God gives them a path to go home and rebuild with the help of King Cyrus. King Cyrus was not historically a good wholesome man. God used him to help his people. God softened his heart.
God always answers the prayers of his people and even those who do not believe. As a believer I think we have a better connection to be able to listen to those responses the Holy Spirit gives to us. Listening has always been one of my downfalls.
So, how do I hear the Holy Spirit when it convicts my heart? I think to myself is this of God? Will it expand His kingdom? Is it about myself or love? If I rely on Jesus and do not live in sin my heart is clean of hate and selfishness. Then, I can hear the the answers to my prayers. I do sin but, I do not live in it and set out to please myself like I always did on payday. If I live in sin I live in guilt and that just sucks.
Some people today have no guilt. The moral compass we all should live by is being distorted. Truth is truth is is not subject to my feelings. I chose to believe is the Truth. So, I get guilty feelings when I do wrong. I then ask for forgiveness and strength to not do that again.
Can you hear when God answers you? Focusing on Jesus helps me to hear His Holy Spirit so I may receive the overflowing gifts promised to me. I am sick of missing out. The FOMO for me is real. God has given me what I asked for now I am to use these gifts to show others the path to salvation through the Word.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for listening to us. Purify our hearts so we may hear you. I thank you for answering our prayers and help us to be patient because it is your timing not ours. I thank you in Jesus name, Amen.
Thank you everyone for being here. I love all you guys. WWJD For Life! 🥰
