Mark 10:14-15 (NIV):
“When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’”
The context is that little kids were crowding Jesus and wanting to see him. The disciples told them to back off a bit, and Jesus said, "Bring them to me."
I woke up this morning and started scrolling for inspiration for today's blog and to see how the social temperature is doing. I saw a video on YouTube titled something like "Elon's son X talks about Jesus." I thought it was clickbait.
I tell you what! That kid is on fire. He sees the truth, and the world listened to him. I remember being young like that and saying similar things to my elders, and I was told that one day I would learn that the world does not work like that. I was told to shut up.
X talked about how we are supposed to love everyone, and I mean everyone. The ones we do not like also. This has been the same message I write about a couple of times a week. From the mouths of babes comes truth and knowledge. Why?
Kids see things plainly. They are very logical. They have not been canceled or punched in the face yet. I am amazed at the wisdom of children if we just listen to them. It is our job to teach them right, even other people's kids. We are all in this together. I was spanked by other kids' parents. XD
Do you listen to kids? My friend Ian's little girl is 6, and that kid is ultra-smart. Her pops is a genius in my opinion, and it rubs off. Ian listens to everything she wants to talk about and gives her conversation so she can figure it out on her own. That is how it's done.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the wisdom of your little ones. Help us to listen, and let down our guard so we may hear their unfiltered words. Help us to think more like a child and speak the truth with no regard for what others will say. Help us to keep the emotions of the world from swaying us to the right or left. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
