Being Born Again

Being born again is like the peace that my dog is in when I am close to him. That overwhelming comfort we both get when we look into each other's eyes. It is a bond that is unexplainable.
I feel like that with Jesus. I tried to find peace every other way to no avail. There is only one way to have that bonding relationship with God. That way is through Jesus. Jesus was the only one to ever live completely sin-free. He was preparing for the last sacrifice, so he needed to remain pure.
Jesus was talking to a Pharisee named Nicodemus and said in John 3:3, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again." And later in John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
How do I know I am born again? I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. I chose with my free will to live for Him and not myself. He showed me how to live and die and what to do in between times. If I believe, accept, and do what He says, I am born again.
I have been made a new man. I no longer chase wild women and substances to temporarily fill my emotional needs. My needs are met. I know this just like my dog knows I love him when I look in his eyes. My desires have completely flip-flopped. I had no clue this life even existed for anyone. It is amazing.
Do you tell others you are a Christian? I will talk about Jesus with anyone. I try to prompt conversations to talk about the blessings God has given us. I love to tell confused people how to find the solution. They mostly never want to hear it. Some people love to be the victim. I am a VICTOR! Through Christ, of course.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of salvation. Thank you for sending Jesus down here to show us what's up. Thank you for the Holy Spirit to guide us on the path you have set before us. I thank you in Jesus' name, Amen.
