A single Command

Galatians 5:13-15

Paul writes to the Galatians about freedom in Christ. In chapter 5, verse 14, it says, "The entire law can be summed up in a single command: Love your neighbor as yourself."

When Jesus was here, he also spoke that the greatest commandment is to love each other as he has loved us. This means I am to love people even though they do things against me. I am to love them even though they are godless and cruel.

To love the people who have not reached salvation might be more important than loving our fellow Christians. The Christians have already found Jesus. It is the ones who have not experienced love that need it more than me. I know where to get love from, and they do not.

Jesus took all of the commandments and summed them up into one specific command. If I think about it, that is what this all boils down to: love. Nothing else matters. If I love Christ, then I love myself. If I love myself, then I am to love everyone like that.

It is tough to love everyone when I see in the media those people who are anti-human. Those that wish to control and destroy us. Those people are our brothers and sisters. Even though I am not fond of their actions, I am to pray for them and hope they find the truth.

Jesus was the last sacrifice for our sins. The death penalty is over. Everyone has a chance for redemption, even the most vile people I can think of. I was a train wreck my whole life, breaking everything I came across. I was evil in my mind. I did not seek love, but God changed me. I know he can change any heart.

Do you follow this one command Jesus gave to us? I fail every day. Mean thoughts will creep into my head, and I have to stop them with prayer. I remember everyone is created in the image of God, no matter how cringe they are to me. Jesus loves them, so I must also.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending us your only Son to die on the cross for all of our sins. Help us to look at our fellows with love and not disdain. Help us to pray for them and not hate on them. Thank you for loving us so we may know how to love each other. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you everyone for being here. I love all you guys. WWJD For Life! 🥰
